Axiotron ModBook

Some people just can't wait for Apple to do it, so here's a new third-party touchscreen Mac tablet. The Axiotron ModBook is created from a MacBook and is available now for around $2,300.

"Designed in California by Axiotron’s team of German and American engineers, the ModBook™ is at its core an after-market hardware modification to standard off-the-shelf Apple® MacBook™ systems, converting them into high-end slate-style tablet computers. With its condensed form factor and integrated pen-based user experience the Axiotron ModBook is the ultimate companion for applications and situations where a keyboard only gets in the way...

USB Li-Ion Battery

We’ve found the iPhone battery life an improvement on our last (Windows Mobile) phone and it sometimes goes 2 days between charges if it gets light use. However a few weeks ago, on a particularly long business trip to London, the iPhone let us down and died. Admittedly this was a day that started at 5:00am, included video playback whilst waiting in the airport departure lounge, lots of voice, text and email as well as extensive use of Google maps plus having the Wi-Fi turned on all day.

The battery final gave out around 7:00pm, 2 hours short of our business meeting ending. Ok so 14 hours hard use is extreme in one day, and we really should have turned off Wi-Fi and dropped the screen brightness back had we know it was going to be such a marathon. But determined to ensure this won’t happen again, we set about investigated external batteries for the iPhone. After lots of searching we settled on the bargain USB Li-Ion Battery Pack from Portable Power Supplies. Check out the Video and the full review after the jump...

Griffin Powerjolt Car Charger for iPod and iPhone Review PDF Print E-mail

Griffin Powerjolt

Lets face it, the iPhone was never going to be known for it's phenomenal battery life. Not that I am saying it is particularly bad but with all the toys on board, the huge bright screen and wifi the main culprits, you never leave it alone long enough to get a huge standby time.

Soon after getting the iPhone I started looking out for accessories to enable charging on the go, here at Berble we are desperately wanting a combined holder/charger and FM transmitter but nothing has been released in the UK yet.

In the meantime a power only solution will suffice and the GRIFFIN POWERJOLT seems to fit the bill nicely, with a couple of added benefits thrown in for good measure.

Talk Android have got screenshots of Android up and running on the Nokia N810.

There is apparently a guide to getting it up and running yourself, although it's targeted at users with more than a passing understanding of embedded Linux.

The guide site is also down at the moment, hopefully this is just a temporary traffic related problem.
